Exemption Guidelines for 2012-2013 Exemption Form  
To be eligible for regular semester test exemption: 

ALL STUDENT GRADES 9, 10, 11 & 12

1. Have a semester of 90 to 100 in any period with no more than 3 absences (not counting

  school related excused absences).

2. Have a semester average of 80 to 89 in any period with not more than 2 absences (not

  counting school related excused absences).

3. Have a semester average of 70 to 79 in any period with not more than 1 absences (not  counting  school related excused absences).

4. You may be eligible for any or all 8 periods. ( Excluding Aggie time)

5. A student cannot be exempt from a class if he or she has an unexcused absence in the class

during the semester.

6. A student cannot be exempt from a class if he or she has more than 4 tardies in the

  class during the semester.

7. A student cannot be exempt from a class if he or she has been assigned to ISS or DAEP.

 

EVERYONE – THIS SHEET WILL NEED TO BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED TO THE ATTENDANCE OFFICE BY THE STUDENT NO LATER THAN 9:00 A.M. on Friday, December 14, 2012

STAAR Information for the 9th Grade Students entering High School

First time 9th grade students in 2011-2012 will be administered STAAR assessments in order to meet graduation requirements. STAAR assessments will be administered in Algebra I & II, Geometry, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, English I, II & III, World Geography & U.S History.
The STAAR EOC assessment scores will account for 15% of a student's final grade in the course.
To graduate under STAAR a student must achieve a cumulative score that is at least equal to the product of the number of EOC assessments taken in each foundation content area (ELA, Math, Science, and SS) andn a scale score that indicates satisfactory performance.



  Things to remember:
1.
Come to school every day. ( If your child is absent, please provide a letter stating the student's name, reason and date  of  absence(s) with date letter was written, signed by parent with working phone number.
2. Tuesday and Thursday nights, the library is open for students and parents.
3. Tutoring is available - please contact your teachers.
4. Please see Ed Solis if you need to make up hours.
5. Meet with your counselor if you have any questions about your transcripts or credits.
